Beantown Bowlers,

Please see the following message from Sam Bryant, a former member of the Cambridge Beantown league, about a special fundraiser he will be hosting next month at Town Line Tenpin.

Bowling For Bucks

On November 7th, a group of friends and I will be hosting the Bowling For Bucks Fundraiser, to be held at Town Line Ten Pin in Malden, MA. Our goal is to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Massachusetts. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts has an important mission to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions between the ages of 2½ and 18 to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Since their inception in 1987, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts has served over 4,000 seriously ill children throughout the Commonwealth, from the Berkshires to the tip of Cape Cod.

Here are just a couple of stories from children who have benefited from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts: Charlie, age 6, diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic lymphoma, and wished to visit LEGOLAND in San Diego, California. Pablo, age 6, diagnosed with leukemia, wished to explore the world, but given his condition was unable to. He wished for a computer so that though confined, his world was at his fingertips. These children and many more have been granted their wishes, and it has become possible through the donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts. For more information please visit http://mass.wish.org/.

Bowling for Bucks is an opportunity for friends and families to come together, have fun, enjoy each other’s company and make a positive impact on a young person’s life who is facing a life threatening illness.

Bowling for Bucks will take place on November 7th from 1 to 4 pm.

For more information on the fundraiser, please visit our web site:
http://www.bowlingforbucks.info/

Or contact:
Sam Bryant
(508)-981-6959
samcbryant@gmail.com

Hi Everyone!

Our standing sheet has been updated for this week, and you can look at
the current standings at this link:

http://www.leaguesecretary.com/LeagueFilesStandings.aspx?LID=48020

Every week this site will be updated with the results from the most
recent Tuesday night of bowling, usually by Thursday or Friday. You can
also look up your lane assignments for the next week.

I have attached a copy of the by-laws that we will be reviewing over the
next week or two. Team captains, please take a few moments over the
next week to review the rules. Returning league members should be
familiar with most of the rules by now, and there have not been any significant changes from previous years (or at least, no changes that people aren't already aware of). If you have any questions, you can respond with them to this e-mail address or ask one of the officers on Tuesday.

Thanks, and see you tomorrow night!
--Beantown North Officers
It is with great sadness we must report that league member, Sean Fittz, passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2009.

Sean was practicing for the Swim for Life (which is to be held in Provincetown in September) off of Carson Beach last Tuesday. He accidentally drowned during his training.

The energy and enthusiasm that he brought to our league will be missed.

Sean was 40 years old.
